MUSIC THERAPY

Children's Center for Development and Behavior is now providing Music Therapy sessions in collaberation with Cadenza Music Therapy, Inc.

Cadenza was founded in 2000 by Michelle Reitman, Psy.D, LMHC, MT-BC. This collaboration allows us to offers individual therapy sessions to our existing clients and other children who can benefit from music therapy.

Each Music Therapist has extensive clinical training, is board-certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists, and is a registered member of the American Music Therapy Association. Michelle Reitman supervises the program to ensure that the highest quality therapy is provided.

TREATMENT INTERVENTIONS

Music therapists use a wide variety of interventions developed to benefit children with special needs. These goal-oriented musical experiences may be receptive or active and may involve such activities as: singing, dancing, imitation and action songs, academically-oriented songs, musical games, or music listening.

Music therapists work in educational and therapeutic settings with a variety of students including:
